I ask this question as I note a number if you report issues with them and and the Utubers ‘Life is too short’ who I enjoy watching bought a brand new Consort Nova 5,4m van 12 months ago and they have reported in their latest vid that their Deisel Truma boiler has been replaced 3 times !
I would have thought that with the number of Truma boiler fitted, they would have got it right by now !

The cheap Chinese diesel heaters seem reliable ?
No personal experience of them though

Truma have unfortunately done what so many other companies have, stopped making spare parts for their older kit that generally worked well. This forces you to buy their new products that aren't that good.

Full disclosure - I was forced in to buying a new boiler maybe 6 months or so ago. I decided just to go with the truma 4e. When it works it heats quick and well but by god it doesn't half throw up fault codes. It's way too sensitive and quite complicated when using different fuel sources.

When you consider that probably 75% of van are fitted with Truma's they probably don't fair too bad. Another case you only hear about the problems never about the ones that are working.

We have had 4 vans over 17 years all with Truma's never had a problem.

No complaints from me, we have a 4E and it’s 11 years old, it gets a hammering and has been faultless so far except for the elements being replaced.

I had a Whale underfloor heater in a caravan before, it was awful! So, so loud, you couldn’t sleep through it at all. The Truma in comparison is whisper quiet.
