Advice very much appreciated on whether a 2198cc engine is underpowered for a 2005 MWB Autocruise Starblazer.

My work van is a relay with the 100 bhp engine and have had a full load of tools and wheels and towed my mates race car on trailer and had plenty of power so presumably the autocruise will be 140 or more bhp so would have thought it would be ok

Depends what you expect of it.
If you expect anything like car performance forget it.
Hills will always be a gear changer no matter what the engine.

Chatteris and pappajohn, thank you both very much for your advice. I'm not a speedy driver and don't expect race-car performance, just need to know that the engine will be powerful enough to pull up a reasonable hill fully loaded (3500) and cruise at a reasonable 50 - 60mph on the open road, without revving the guts out of it, or being in first or second gear most of the time. Concerned because most others seem to be around 2800cc, even same year. First motorhome purchase so trying to get it right.

I know the saying goes "there is no substitute for CC!" but the BHP and Torque figures are of more interest on a motorhome.
