Hi,

Ireland has gained 1 million PLUS+ passport holders since the Bee Word.

So, if you never knew your parents, let alone your grandparents. Where would you start looking, Just in-case, there was a chance they were Irish and you were entitled to an Irish Passport ?

Are your parents names on your birth certificate?

Do you know their dates of birth and are they still alive?

We just did a thing for a neice and got her grandmothers death cert. So she could apply for an Irish passport.

I wasted a couple of years for not researching properly. I thought as my grandmother was born in N Ireland I wouldn’t be able to apply.
The applicable feature relating was that she was born in the Island of Ireland.
Further research showed she was born before partition.
All sorted now and happy with my second passport.

My Father was born in NI hence the ‘Island of Ireland’ regulation makes it quite straightforward to apply.
