Do as we did travel north! Cross from Cairnryan in Scotland to Northern Ireland then head south ,cross the border into Eire and stop at the first vet you come across ,sort out rabies jab and EU pet passport there. Can I get advice on the best crossing to go from l am near Winchester what paperwork do I need and will I need a passport for us and can we get a Euro passport for our Dog when we land in lreland? and there's an overnight stop just outside Stranraer.Do as we did travel north! Cross from Cairnryan in Scotland to Northern Ireland then head south ,cross the border into Eire and stop at the first vet you come across ,sort out rabies jab and EU pet passport there.
Much cheaper than travelling direct to Eire ,no AHC or vaccination or worming required there and back and then free to travel to Europe without AHC just worming tablet on way back
Doesn’t matter which is shortest, you need to land in NI first to save all the AHC expensive paperwork.Don’t mind driving I was told Roselare is rough sea crossing what is the shortest way across
We overlapped. Yes travel to NI as it is part of GB so same as going to Scotland or Wales. Once in NI go over border to Eire and get a EU Pet Passport. So I can take the dog over with out passport sort it when we land?
Go back up and cross over the same way ,the dog can stay in the van (2hour crossing) or pet lounge ,if you travel back from Rosslaire you would have to get the dog wormed before arrival in Uk (I believe?) and the dog would have to be kennelled (4 hour crossing).Don’t mind driving I was told Roselare is rough sea crossing what is the shortest way across
