iPhone SE goes silent in Fiat Ducato 2018 Autotrail Imala!

Strange one this. When I plug my iPhone into the USB port the voice commands on Google Maps will not work.
Any answers or to quote the late great Terry Wogan “Is it me?”

It’s not you , I’ve found the iPhone refuses to do certain things while plugged in.

Yep like not turning off the alarm when plugged in much to my sleeping wife’s annoyance

Maybe Is it because you are plugging it into the media usb ? Try plugging it into a usb 12v socket.
