Intermittent refusal of key fob to unlock door (1 Viewer)

Anyone got suggestions as to why my 8 year old Fiat key fob has decided not to work the central locking but only intermittently. Have had new battery fitted. If left for an hour or so it will then behave. Only got one fob otherwise could try another one. Any ideas as to cost of getting a spare ??? No doubt mega bucks.

Often a grain of sand gets in around the micro switch. Take the fob apart and either blow it all over with CO2 aerosol or gently brush it with a fine paint brush.
