I have got a 2017 boxer and I want to remove the double seat to replace with a single. Now we all know they are rare so expensive and virtually non existent in reclaimation yards. What would be the problem with buying another drivers seat instead. Ok you will have to swap the seat belt round but that's no big deal. Another alternative is to buy some car seats instead which I've done on a previous build. However nowadays seats have all become quite complicated so I was wondering if there would be wiring issues etc and upsetting the ECU. Also I see fancy Audi seats with electric adjustments. Is this just a case of connecting a 12v supply?
Anyway does anybody have any opinions or thoughts.

I think the electrical seat belt dubry watchermacalit thing doesn’t work on our passenger seat it can’t tell if anyone’s on it or not if the belt is not used.
Nothing on the dash.

Would something like the seats from another pugeot do?

Is pug 406 / 4007.

As the electrical architecture is likely to be the same.

Or if on fiat architecture then Alfa Romeo seats a quite tasty, others will know the electric requirements.

I know that transit owners fit ford Kuga seats for that very reason.

Cheers James

Not that this will help but the Fordson van my father bought from a local newspaper had two piles of papers and a plank for the front seats. He replaced them with leather seats from a Ford Pilot car.

i put some electric seats out a range rover sport they were reasonably cheap but all the motors had to be wired back to separate switches
but the seats are comfortable

Anyone know if VW T4/T5 seats (180 base) will fit in a 2002 Boxer based mobile home?

Seats I have used in the past are , Toyota previa,VW Sharon, Kia people carrier ( cannot remember model name) Jaguar and a ford focus. I usually get my mate to fabricate a seat base to take both seat and swivel then get everything re covered.
I still have two swivel bases from a ambulance sat in my Man cave. 👍

How about a bean bag?

Why do people insist that passenger single seats are as rare as rocking horse poo? They are plentiful on the continent from Left hand drive vans

Make a weekend of it and pop over to France/Belgium etc
