Recently I stumbled across an article about Sim Racing - with the correct equipment, you can race "live" against others from across the world.
I didn't think it would be particularly interesting watching it, but its actually quite good.
There is a huge choice to watch on You Tube - lots of people post there own content. One guy that seems to be the most professional and posts really good racing is "Dave Cam" - be warned - its very addictive!

I LOVE sim racing, it’s and addictive hobby and a money pit too…but much cheaper than the real thing and you don’t get hurt when it goes wrong.

In fact I’ve been in a league* GT3 race this afternoon!

Like you, I was amazed when I first watched some of the pro sim racing drivers as to how compelling I found the viewing, and how they are able to hold conversations about unrelated matters while putting in lap times considerably faster than I can even dream of!

One of the guys I watch a lot is a chap from the Czech Republic, Jardier, who is an exceptional driver especially as he talks in English - not his native tongue - while putting in astonishing lap times https://youtube.com/@jardier?si=QVaDLW5dXi0P0iL1

*The league I compete in is SixtySimthings, which is a league where the main criteria is that you must be over 60 to join, and play a particular sim (Assettto Corsa Competizione) on a PC. They can be found on www.sixtysimthings.co.uk if you’re interested, always after new members 👍🏻

Edit - was in two minds whether to add this or not, but here is a video of the league race I did from 2 weeks ago

Thanks for your post, glad its not just me that enjoys this!
I'd love to get more involved but for various reasons I can't at the moment. It's certainly not the cheapest hobby but great fun.
I'll look up Jardier and sixtysimthings - always good to see new content. Dave Cam competes mainly on iracing so there is a fair bit of variety.
I'll watch your race when I get a chance - thanks again for replying.
