Autumn 2020
We have never attempted to organise a rally before so would appreciate some assistance/ marshalls if this takes off.

I have approched a landowner in Huby ( near York and directly on the no40 bus route) who has a great field next to his CL site that he would be willing to turn over to us of a rally in 2023 (bit late for 2022 I think unless there is interest for a small meet we could book out the smaller CL field).

There are many walks from the site and Huby village is a 15 minute walk with pub, chinese restaurant and beer garden (go figure), fish and chips and community shop/PO

So I am putting this out there to see if there is any interest, initially we thought first week or weekend in September as the rally calender looks a bit sparse.

I would love to know your thoughts or expressions of interest and will then decide whether to pursue further.

Only voted No ‘cos we go abroad in September

I don't think you would have a problem with funsters wanting to party in September. Schools would be back open and the local businesses would be grateful for our attention!🍺

I voted yes for 2023, not sure where we are September this year, end of the day though it's York so I am sure it would be popular and there are not that many rallies up this way.

You may find a small meet in Sept 22 could work as anyone coming down from the North east could use it as a stop off on route to Lincoln show maybe.. Ideal for some practice before a larger rally later. (y)

Have not voted as i'm usually a last minute decider.

I voted don't know for the same reason but beiging of September may have been OK then I saw its right up north so had to change my vote to a no.

We didn’t realise what “up north” was until we just went to Holy Island! It’s lovely by the way 🙂

Some of us are still 'up North' but not for much longer, got to prepare for the Quackers 'Festival' on the 14th! 😄😄

I heard a little rumour that the weather is going to be warm and sunny for the rally, must be related to the attendance by L' Hobo :sun: :sun: :sun:

PebblesJnr we still have spaces available come down and join us, we have a few people here who would make excellent marshals.

Ummm woodside? Where,?

Hi and well done for wanting run a rally. Have a read of this.

I would suggest you just put it in the calendar as early as possible and promote it. With firm dates you'll get proper commitment. In the highly unlikley event that you don't get enough people to make it viable you can always have a cut-off date to cancel it. This September might be a bit too soon, but you can try it. But for 23 it would be much easier. If you need any help with getting it in the calendar, just give me a shout.

Or another favorite is a brand Rally say Bailey or Auto Sleeper, that way you can promote it on their pages also.
Better still go for a parent company with half a dozen brands 'Trigano' being probably the biggest, auto trail, mobilvetta, adria, auto sleeper to name just 4, those owners always like to get together to compare vehicles, it's an option for 22 and a learning curve.

Just an idea,...

Would be handy for us but we usually go abroad as soon as school holidays are over.

Near Bristol would be better, woodside is quite a common area

Was there any idea of numbers willing to attend?

I have had to cancel the idea of a meet for this year. Too many other things are gettig in the way , but I will pull something together for next year with plenty of notice for everyone who may want to come 😀
That is a great shame PebblesJnr, please do not give up on the idea.
We have a gap early September at Woodside Field if anybody wants to have a go at organising a small rally.

Its a yes yes yes for 2022 and 2023 for us.
Just get your dates sorted and you will have loads of funsters wanting to attend. (y)

Still 2 months away yet and sept is pretty quiet with kids back to school.so its still a potential goer.

As long as we are not at a show I'm up for it, 22 or 3. Can Marshall if we can go.

Lovely distance for us (Bedale is a touch too close!), but would have to not clash with Blam Blam Fever in Redcar!!

😜

For anone that expressed an interest please see the post below or check out the rally calendar for 19th Sep 2022
