Had our Hymer insured through the Caravan Club CAMC.

Its not been off the drive since September, not that anyone would know.

Last Years Premium £250

Renewal £480 !

Some people still swear by Caravan Guard but I always found them to be expensive compared with Comfort Insurance.
Although £250 doe's sound cheap enough.

That is odd. My comfort quotes have never been from Aviva themselves, although the policy is. I can only speak from a personal perspective and found them to be amongst the cheapest for my postcode and where the van is parked. Other postcodes may vary

Yes, and that’s what I’m thinking. Ours is older, no ABS, airbags etc.

It’s not that bad, just a lot of nicer areas. In fact our postcode is usually good for motor insurance. We are squeaky clean drivers and it’s tucked away on the drive.

I wonder if the insurance companies have re-rated your postcode area. We pay less than £400 with Comfort, van insured for 75k.

We insure via Camping and Caravan Club. Tried Comfort a few times but they are always at least twice the price of any other quotes I receive. I don't think they like older vans with no trackers on them.

Managed to get some quotes. Cheapest (Adrian Flux/Markerstudy) went from £345 to £265 with some haggling. Not looked at like for like cover yet. But its limited to 30 days in Europe which was okay for last two years, who knows the future?.

Just a note off something to check if you have protected no claims....

I only just noticed this, I had a small claim of £1200 maybe 18 months ago and was paid out. My premium didn't go up as it was protected but I just noticed that my excess on claims has jumped to £3,000. Bit sneaky that!

£3000 wow, I thought ours was expensive at £250.

My insurance is still only around £350 but hopefully I won't be making a claim again anytime soon!
