Here a conundrum for you.
I’m going to be a tiny bit vague here because I don’t want this question to come back and bite me in the bum
Our current Motorhome is insured with Company A and as we are changing the camper we contacted them about altering the policy. Because of the base vehicle they insist that a tracker is fitted before they insure it but as most fitting companies fit at your home address we wouldn’t be insured to drive it home, even though the tracker would be done the following day.
We can’t get it done at the dealers because they use a mobile company and couldn’t arrange it immediately.
So we contacted another insurance company who will insure us prior to fitting the tracker but they are a lot more expensive.
So, if we go with Company B and drive home, fully insured, then cancel the policy and go back to Company A (as we didn’t cancel our original policy for the current van) are there any legal implications? I think there is a cooling off period for cancelling policies but if not then there would be a fee but even so the policy with Company A is a lot (lot) cheaper than with Company B.
