i buy kingspan boards from AA insulation locally they have " damaged boards" at half price and most have just a corner damage .

perhaps theres a supplier near you with the same set up.

I would get a price from your local builders merchant as this will probably include free delivery as well.

I can tell you that cost price is in the region of £12 - £15 board and I sell them to Joe Public at about £20 - £25 depending on quantity
If you have an SIG Insulation or an Encon Insulation or Travis Perkins I would certain ask if any damaged boards as its easy damaged and the tradesmen don't want them

Try "Seconds & Co"

http://www.secondsandco.co.uk/

We got all the rigid insulation for out house from them. Excellent service but I don't know about minimum prices/order quantities.

Just another thought spray foam
Seemed a lot used. It on the self build site

Myself I used polystyrene sheet 25 mm
Back then an 8x4 sheet was a tenner
Probably a little more now though

Another thought I had was styrofoam but no idea where I would get that from -- Spray foam is also good but double the price of kingspan and I am not sure on insulation properties

Wickes

I went to the local Wickes after 10 sheets of 50mm thick. When I was looking at what they had and there was about 8 sheets damaged. I had a chat with one of fellas working there who was responsible for stacking them. He arranged for me to have the damaged ones at half price. The damage was not extensive and I could use virtually all the sheets entirely. So you could try that approach. Very pleased with the deal.

Kingspan will have the better insulation values but if you can get Styrofoam not much in it unless you are going to use in sub zero conditions

Up date --went with cheapest deal off ebay --but phoned the firm up and asked if they had any damaged boards (after reading on here) No came the reply but if you buy from us now instead of ebay I can do you them for £121 -no ebay fees etc :thumb:
Best bit is they came yesterday from my local Keyline builders merchants :thumb::thumb: They wanted above £200 for the boards at trade price :Eeek:--Wonder what size discount they get

As I found out when self building "trade" is the price from which you start negotiating.
