C&CC Inspectors were on the CS we are on and I was surprised to see his EHU cable had a lot, I mean a lot, of black tape on it.
Thought it might be that con to stop anyone pinching it but when he wrapped it up it didn’t look quite right, had kinks where the tape was!
 
Why not two split pins?
Overkill?
I could do with one of them leads for the mother in laws fixed lead kettle,it would help her reach the sink more easily ;) .

When Rommel was chasing my uncle George through the desert in WW2 he (and all the other desert rats) would've been familiar with lots of these ingenious short cuts!

We saw one caravan in france that had pulled up outside a camping-car ,thrown his lead over the fence and using a length of stripped twin and earth poked his cables into the hook-up with 2 sticks! .
