Hi
Can anyone recommend a large good inflatable unit to go alongside a Motorhome?
We had oner with our Caravan but i assume it does not work the same way with a MH.
Looking for something we can pull alongside to really and open the MH Door into it once parked up if there is such a thing.
Thank you
Matt

Do you have an awning (sunshade) fitted?
Kampa Rally Pro slides onto a fixed awning.
Otherwise a drive away one could work. As you have pointed out make sure the hab door can open with awning attached.

Most motorhome awnings come in a couple of different heights.
You need to know the height ground to awning rail ofr to roof if driveway throw over type.

We are in the process of looking/buying one but most seem to have the shade fitted.

The shade will most likely have a channel in it. Wind shade out , thread awning in, may need a figure of eight to join, wind it back in and inflate awning. As said just the height of the hab door to worry about

If you have a Thule wind-out then the official advice is not to use it to raise a driveaway awning as it puts too much strain on the mechanism. Probably take this with a shovel-full of salt as they try to sell you their add-on screens instead. The slot is also in the back of the beam which isn't as convenient as on the Fiamma.
When measuring the height of the rail don't forget to allow for uneven ground - especially if you foresee using levelling ramps. You might need quite a bit of extra height to make sure the sides reach the ground.

There's some interesting videos if you've never done it before

Not sure what the outcome will be, we had Kampa Rally Air for a few years and it never lost pressure, replaced with a Vango drive-away which we erected for the first time yesterday. It was great for two hours before it collapsed. Tried twice more with same result. Contacted supplier, who said to check inflation valves? I had already told them that I had checked with soap solution and they were not leaking. Watch this space!!!!

I am sure they will do the right thing. Ie, send out a new one.

Just thinking outside the box……why not try a freestanding event shelter like the Vango Air Hub Hex?

They do also do the Air Hub Hexaway which does attach to an awning rail with a tunnel too..

I have a Kampa Motor Rlly Air if I’m hanging around, but the versatility of the Air Hub Hex means it gets used a lot more.

The only time I notice any pressure difference is usually related to big ambient temperature changes.

Eg. If I inflate it when it’s hot and then the weather cools down, the pressure drops accordingly.
The same if it’s inflated to its max when it’s cold and it gets hotter outside…..I check to make sure it isn’t over pressurised…..because I’ve witnessed that go wrong too 🤣😱

An update on my new Vango Hex. It would not stay inflated for more than a couple of hours. Contacted seller and they sent me a new bladder, £95 worth. 24 hour delivery, arrived this morning. Bit of a task replacing bladder but all up and no loss of pressure. Good service and they have not asked for the old one back, so I will locate the leak and hopefully be able to effect a repair, thus giving me a spare.
