Hi
I have a Bailey 75-2 on a Peugeot Boxer chassis and just after my MOT the right turn indicator is flashing fast and I have a yellow warning triangle lit on the dash. The front, rear and wing mirror indicators are flashing as normal. Any ideas guys?

Bob

Damp in one of the front indicator lens covers possibly. Remove covers dry out, check all bulbs.

Do you have a tow bar fitted? If so..is the connection for the rear right shorting across ?

Possibly bulb gone or water ingress.

Your rear lights are LED , the side mirror repeater and front are conventional filament bulbs
my guess would be the rear unit is defective or possibly some of the LEDs are faulty

I will be at the van next weekend so will check all fittings. Would a faulty indicator give me the yellow/amber triangle light?

I have just read on the net of someone had a mirror replaced and had the same problem. We have had our mirror replaced at the garage so could be a miss match in lamps. I watched a U Tube video and it appears that I have to remove the glass in the mirror to find two screws that hold the indicator. Anyone done this?

Bertie Bus ,You do not have to remove the mirror glass , you just need to move it with its mirror control to access the 2 x screws . (according to my 2015 boxer handbook)
You may need to remove the other mirror indicator lens to confirm which wattage bulb should be fitted (5w or 16w ), unless you have the mirror that was removed.

Do you have any side repeaters? My older Ducatos both had one on the wing as well as the front and rear light clusters. Water in any of those can cause this as well.

same happened to me. It was the side indicator bulb had blown. Have a 2017 Autograph. Have to take off the top mirror, by pushing in top of mirror and then pulling bottom out. Remove 2 screws and the bulb fitting come out Mine was a 16 W Bulb coloured orange. Fond the right one by going to Bennets who checked the vin.

Had this happen on a 4x4 with a towbar. Damp in the hook up socket was the problem. I think it's the canbus system looking for a change in voltage which you would get with a bulb out.

Looking for the correct bulbs now. It is a 2017 Peugeot Boxer chassis and it is the drivers side wing mirror indicator. I want to get a set before I go to the van ( 40 miles away). Does anyone know what kind they are?

These are the ones you want Bob on Amazon.

Amazon product ASIN B07228D2BS
If you don't like dealing with Amazon, then Google search for 585 WY21W

You will need a #1 Phillips screwdriver as the screws a very small that hold in the indicator lens

There are two different bulbs depending if the mirror has an outside temperature sensor or not. . Chances are they have fitted the wrong mirror.
The mirror with the sensor has a small round pip on the under side about 6mm.
I have a feeling the bulb fittings may be different.

That's news to me, all side mirror indicator bulbs are 585 WY21W bulbs as far as I'm aware for the X250 and X290.

My handbook (2015 Boxer) states , Direction side repeaters = W 16 W F - 16 W , an all glass bulb , for my Autocruise van conversion but it may be worth checking using the Vin number in case your Motorhome is different. . Also I have checked on my van today and the repeater lens screws can be seen , with just about enough space for them to be removed , by using the mirror adjustment control knobs.(as in the handbook)
The handbook also states that 21watt bulbs are used in the direction indicator lamps , but not in the repeater lights in the mirror .

Some side repeaters are 15w some are 5w. The holders are different so the only way of overcoming the problem if a "5w mirror" has been fitted is a 10w resistor or another mirror!

Yes I stand corrected, they are the 16w version, not the 21w.

If this problem started after the MOT , could an indicator bulb have been replaced then and is the wrong wattage ?
I would think not.....
The MOT has to be done AS PRESENTED.
It's not permitted to do repairs DURING the MOT.
It can be fixed after being failed then immediately retested but would still show an MOT fail then pass.

In theory. (y)

That's very true of course . But, if the tester had replaced the bulb he still would have checked the dash lights and seen the rapid flash rate and the warning triangle and failed it.

If the test replaced the duff bulb, then then he's a nice guy, as I have had the same situation for one of the two number plate lights out on my van, and I check all the lights before the 20 mile drive to the MOT station.
