I'm a newbie
Hi, I have a 2012 Fiat 130 Ducato which has been converted into a motorhome/ motorcycle race truck, all professionally done but if I put one bike and all the kit in we are getting 3,640 kg, just under the maximum, is it possible to increase the load capability to 4000kg by adding an upgraded rear leaf spring to be able to carry another bike?? Plenty of space to do, Hope someone can help, also what would you need to do if its possible to upgrade with changes to the Data plate and log book, I have been in touch with the Conversion company and they said no upgrade was done when the conversion was carried out, Phil

Rear air assist. Quite cheap to do. Contact Dee at https://www.vanweightengineering.com/ and give him few details and he will tell what exactly the possibilities are. For a reasonable fee he will do the admin process with the DVLA once you have had any necessary work done. Mine went from 3500 to 4250 with just airbags but I already had 16inch wheels.

Thanks VXman . I meant to ask you about that earlier, on that other payload related thread.

Can VWE still advise as it's the owner that signs and sends off the paperwork anyway?
They can but without VWE's certification the DVLA won't change the vehicle docs if it's to uprate, so you'd have to wait until VWE are approved again or you'd have to use SVTech.

Anyone can advise the op but vwe cannot do the paperwork and sign of the catificate so the upplate can be done.
Mind that must be one heavy conversion if one bike puts you at 3600kg, you better hope the vans on a maxi chassis.
