Here for a few days , very nice , spotless and 5 minute walk into the lovely quirky town . The app pay electric system I moaned about is good as well. Not a cheap site but with cmcs one night free deal is fine . Worth a few days if you need a venue IMO . I’m booking again for the spring BOGOF again :-)

Yeah sorry Totnes , but google maps would have told you that ;-) great foodie scene here and the Friday market was so unusual - really good

How do you get the one night free deal please? or even BOGOF?
Just had look at pricing in "Low Season" its £34.70 plus Electric member price, £41.60 plus electric for non members for two adults after 06th Jan 2025, too expensive IMHO, but pleased the OP is enjoying it after refurbishment.

CMC are now too expensive for many, unlike CCC offering over 60 discounts plus THS sites in summer.

Go an email from CMC as a member offering it , in fact got two .

One of the best sites in the country IMHO.
I believe the lack of hook-up was a good way of ensuring many people would only stay a coupe of nights. Many more people could then enjoy the area for a while. I fear that access to hook up will mean many motorhomers will now max-out their stay allowance on this site and deprive others of the opportunity to experience the same.

There is also a Steamer Quay on Ullswater, hence the question as there is also a campsite nearby just down from Pooley Bridge ( our neck of the woods so to speak)

Nope that’s correct but you only have to put down a £5 deposit

I loved it when it was grass pitches and no EHU. Clearly I’m a dinosaur.

We booked Steamer Quay a couple of weeks ago, going for three nights in early January , really looking forward to it . Missed out on the free night by the looks of it 😮
