Importing a moped from France

I'd like a small moped (the type with pedals) to take along sometimes. There are some around in the UK but the sellers are asking silly money for them. Every year on my French bimble I see loads for sale at quite reasonable prices.

Just how complicated is it to import and register vehicles from abroad?
