Assume you've just won the lottery and money was unimportant. Which immobiliser would you get fitted to your bus?

I'm looking at Ghost 2, Shadow and Scorpion. What others have people used?

None, it's unimportant :cool::rolleyes:

My son had a metatrak fitted by Vanbitz, saved his MH. Even though they left quite a mess they just couldn't defeat it and metatrak were brilliant at coming out and sorting the damage. I've posted the photo before, but worth a second look

Jeez, what a mess. Too much to hope that the Police ever found anyone, I assume?

I already have a tracker with lifetime subscription through Global Telemetrics. I don't want to get another one, obviously. Can Metatrak S5 be allied to any Tracking system, or only their own?

Thanks for the info though.

I think it is, but I am curious to know why you don't consider it to be important. Is it the age/value of your bus?
The OP said!!!

"Assume you've just won the lottery and money was unimportant. "

So why would I need a tracker?

Was meant to be a throwaway........ hence .....:rolleyes: alas wasted..

It was a mess but it got sorted quickly. It was in storage at a certain site, several other MHs and caravans had their trackers removed ready for what was obviously a well planned operation. Metratrak chap reckoned they went off to try to work out how to overcome the immobiliser and then they would have been back and taken the whole lot in one go.... despite onsite warden hmmm.

They had tried really hard, even removing the battery and trying one from another vehicle. But they didn't manage it!!

Don't know anything above the tracking, son had that too from Vanbitz, but it was the immobiliser that stopped it being pinched. If your immobiliser is good do you actually need a tracker? Of the two I know which my son would opt for (though as he had already had one stolen and this one was a close shave he decided to give up altogether sadly)

If you need that degree of anti-theft protection in Kent, I would consider moving to a low crime postcode.

My grandad believed in a very big snake as a good way to deter thieves. It worked for him.

Hhhmmmm, dare I ask about the snake or would that contravene Jim's rules?

Asking for a friend who was looking over my shoulder.

So right. Crime has seen a recent upsurge round here. Only last March, someone wrote a rude message on the village notice board. Must have been cityfolk from the Smoke, because the grammar was terrible.

No Dux, we don't have much crime round here, but they may do in the places that we will drive to, hence an immobiliser & tracker!

Mrs DDJC would have a problem with a big snake. We'd probably use one of these:

I would pay an armed guard to sleep inside.

Probably going for the Shadow as it is compatible with the tracker system we use, and not hideously expensive. It uses a little card which has to be in the cab before it starts. I was looking at the immobilisers that use the dashboard button sequence, but I am getting old and feel sure that I would forget it!

But before I do, has anyone heard of any bad stuff about Shadow?

I’m busy checking out alarm systems and trackers at the moment. I would prefer using someone loca if possible, shadow system does look good 👍
