Travelling back from Ireland last week the High Fluid Temp message flashed up on dashboard and disappeared immediately. Pulled over and checked under bonnet all ok, fluid level fine. Continued journey to Dublin with no issues. got off ferry at Holyhead and as driving through port the immobiliser light came on, van stopped dead and we had to get pushed to side. Managed to do a reset, by turning key and waiting 15 minutes, which worked. Drove 140 miles home without a problem, with one stop half way.
Tried to start van today and immobiliser light is on straight away and van will not start. Won’t let us reset, tried disconnecting battery, no success.

Could these two issues be connected?

Any ideas where to start?

Had new cab battery last year.

Could be worth replacing the engine/gearbox to body earth strap as , although it could look ok , the crimp connections on the cable can be a problem (high resistance) which can cause electrical / sensor reading faults ,
