We will not be joining you this year. Off to France for the month of June...

I hope that the rehash of this show works, as it has in recent years became a ghost of what it was 25 years back (boy was it that long ago we first went to it .. in those days it was full of motorhomes in side by side lines)... looks good value for the week, and I know the MHF will have a good time. But as it was so poor last year (not the MHF bit but the actual show) we have decided to seek the sun.

Will be watching to see how it goes so we can consider 2013.

Sorry I don't beleive half that you won't see me and a lot of others , definately be giving it a miss my advice save your money and go elswhere , it was a sham last year and we should have been refunded :thumb:

Yes last year was a great week, low cost for 7 nights and show access. Weather as well was good, great venue to visit Stratford.
Show was c###. Only bought an ice cream....

This shows how bad it was if you only bought an ice cream:thumb:

Hi, many have enjoyed this show for its location and a very social meet.
Like most shows we have been told off for enjoying ourselves. :Rofl1::Rofl1:

What is your favourite show ? Or do you not like shows /rallies or meets.
And only go to buy. Bob.

I dare say many enjoyed the show but just as many didn't enjoy it . Yes I do like shows and usually travel up from South Wales in convoy with several other friends and their vans . I do go to buy kit to see me through the year , and look at any new gadgets etc that have come on the market also any bargains that may be about , have also taken friends potential buyers to see whats on the market . If people don't buy the traders won't return , and if there are no trader's the showgoers won't return simple . No I don't do rallies , or organised meets , and have plenty of friends around the country who also won't be going to this so called show , we probabally be going to the Pembrokshire coast far cheaper and far better views . As for shows I like Malvern and Shepton , Newbury not too bad :thumb:

Malvern still does it for me

Malvern still does it for me.. has it all, good entertainment, lots and lots of different trade stalls including the Americana type stalls with western gear and Indian products... was great where we used to be.. not so keen on the horse sh*t dump area......I like also Newbury, easy access off the motorway and where we park (MGF) good to get to the trade stands... good roadways for taking the dog out... I like Shepton, but hate the road in from the A303 ..nasty road... not over keen on the trade area..

But the MHF social side is great for us.. enjoy it very much, meet up with lots of friends, both RV and Eurobox owners.

Hate Lincoln.. always wet and windy. Not keen on some of the others either, Peterborough is OK.... Newark not that good as far as I am concerned.

Stafford is a shadow of what it used to be when we first went 24 years ago.. I felt we were being ripped off by the organisers last year - hate to have that feeling.. BUT THE MHF part was ACE... great meet in that respect... Jim worked hard to make it a good meet....

Hi, we might see you at Newbury or Malvern then, last year we had a great meet at Malvern, but to be honest its the people that attend that make it. :thumb:
Up until this year we would have been coming back from Spain to attend Newark show, this year with the meet at Marjal and other commitments we cannot make it.
Not because its a great show, mostly it has been really cold and sometimes wet, but a great crowd attend and make it a good weekend.:thumb:
All shows are different, if you asked me what's the best show for buying I would say Peterborough, but as for being the better show for the socialising well that depends on who goes, and what mood they are in. :Rofl1:
A weeks camping at Stratford with entertainment, in a great location and camping with funsters £53  is good value.
We went to Dusseldorf show spent 4 days looking around motorhomes and loved it, but had we gone to buy any bits and bobs, we would have been very disappointed. Bob.

DITTO

ONLY THE ORGANIZERS MAKE A MINT OUT OF IT

TOO EXPENSIVE DRIVEN BY GREED :Rofl1::Rofl1:

IF YOU WERE AS RICH AS ME YOU WOULD THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY AND ATTEND THIS OVER RATED SHOW :Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1:

I am at a complete loss to understand the mentality of the many people who have gone to great lengths to say why they are not going.

We who are going and have enjoyed it in the past do not give a toss. Stratford is a great town. The area is great. The company is great. The racecourse is great.

Go and clutter up some other thread or start your own moaning thread.

You bet you are. I got thrown off The Dark Side for accusing the moderators of Nazi censorship.

I voiced my opinion once, you and others laid into Stratford like Jim was trying to ruin you financially and destroy your lives.

I've paid £50 for a week's holiday with some great company in town with great historical significance that attracts visitors from all over the world.

I accept your point about poor trade stands but that does not bother me, we are going for the meet and the location.

Things to see:

I was only warning people who may be travelling from afar to see a Motorhome Show what to expect as for the Town it's great as for the Rally that's up to you , and I never made no such comment or even thought of Jim trying to ruin our lives ? where do you get that from .

Can we just leave it there, you have had your say.

Now if you want to start a new thread.......................Why I don't go to shows, or why I have nothing better to do on a cold day in Wales !!!! Carry On.

The Motorhome Show – Stratford-Upon-Avon.
22nd-24th June 2012

In its 25th year The Motorhome Show at Stratford Racecourse is still a favourite with showgoers from all over the country.

The all new Stratford show is creating a buzz with trade and public alike. Everyone is looking forward to the revamped show, being held for the 25th year at the Racecourse Stratford-Upon-Avon from 22nd – 24th June. The exhibition will now be centred around the Grandstand area, making the most of the plush facilities on offer. There’ll be 2 nights of free entertainment in the Stratford Big Top, fun craft competitions in the Grandstand bar. And why not show off your prized parrot, pampered pooch, cute kittie or lovely lizard at the “Best Pet Competition” in the Parade Ring on Sunday afternoon. You could win £25! It’s the perfect place to view and buy the latest Motorhomes as well as pre-loved models, plus the latest innovations in the accessory market, clothing, gadgets and gizmos all in the beautiful setting of Shakespeare country.
Owners and first timers will be coming from all over the country to enjoy the three day show. Although the show doesn’t open until Friday, hundreds of enthusiasts will be arriving from Monday 18th June, making the most of all that there is on offer in the area. Why not hire a bike and explore the Stratford Greenway. You can start and finish your cycle from the cycle hire centre beside the track. You can rest, relax and enjoy refreshments at the Carriages Cafe at the start or end of the ride and survey the thousands of Motorhomes at the show. Why not live dangerously and try a tandem! Or if you prefer to stretch your legs, Stratford’s historic town centre is within walking distance via the charming riverside pathway that runs past the Racecourse. If your legs could do with a rest, from Friday there are shuttle buses running to and from the town centre, as well as mystery coach trips around the surrounding countryside. But as always, the stars of the show are the Motorhomes themselves!

Always a good social event, we will put up the marquee for funsters entertainment.
You can walk into town along the river, we always enjoy this meet.:thumb:

[Oops someone doesn't like the truth . Plenty of things to do on a cold day in Wales . I do go to shows read the threads . Off out guess you will be on this all day .

All I said was I hope..........

If you read the post I started this thread off with you will see I said I hoped the re hash of the show would work. I also said I was going to France for June. I also said I would consider it in 2013 if it is still running.... I also expressed I found the trade side of the event very poor, but also said how good the MHF side was.

I do feel every member has the right to say his bit.. as long as it does not attack another. But the principle is that if I post a view I expect some others to disagree or even agree (sometimes)... or come up with other takes on the issue.

Not everyone can express there view to keep everyone happy, least me... But I would hate to think that members would try to stop someone posting there heart felt views on a subject. Last time I looked we lived still in a democracy and free speech was allowed, certainly on MHF.

Members need to know the plus as well as the negative of lots of things. This site allows that without being bullied (I hope).

My views which as a member of this site I am allowed to express.

I agree with you Bob, but it is really annoying when you put a thread on.................FOR MEMBERS WANTING TO ATTEND A SHOW and it turns into a free for all.

Not only our show threads, but all threads and they are soon off topic.

As you know we are away until the end of March, and at the moment we have wifi, but so annoying when we have not had wifi, and have many pages of posts to go through sorting out who wants to go on the list !!

So this thread is good , everyone can put what like on it.:BigGrin:

See you at Peterborough Show. :thumb: Bob.
