Autocruise Starseeker 2006 vintage - away for first time in four months, to find igniter on oven and hob not working. Fair enough, can use matches. Then turned dial to switch on Truma water heater using gas, and... nothing. Usually makes a slight clunk, then green light comes on.

Gas flowing properly, external cover removed, boiler full of water. Then occurred to me that it may not be coincidence, and that both igniters are somehow connected. Am I correct? In any event, suggestions welcome as we planned to be off grid quite a lot, and appreciate hot water!

This sometimes happens to me when the 12 volt supply falls a tad low (clouds or shade).

Maybe try running engine as you fire up the trouble some items...

I know it sounds stupid but I have had that before when I realised I hadnt switched on the 12V electric panel!!😱

If not definitely sounds electrical

Again as I quoted in the resent "combi 4e" post earlier tonight...
Only if your vans habitation electrics don't turn off when engine is started!!!

Ta for these. Will try engine idea tomorrow. If no go, will tentatively investigate fuses. I know where they are, but we are not intimately acquainted...

I’m beginning to think my fridge is having low voltage issues at night as well it some times struggles to light at night.
Seems to be okay during the day as the solar bumps up the power.
I need to do some more investigations, before I get some more batteries.

Hmm. Seems to be a moho gremlin at work. As well as the two igniters, discovered one of the three 12v sockets is not working (all was well when we last used the van a few months back).

I looked at the fuses, sprayed wd40 about, and tentatively removed the 10 rated one, which the handbook suggested might be in line with the oven igniter. Replaced it with another, taken at random, still no action. Returned them to original positions. Think I am at the outer limits of my electrical knowledge here, and will have to cope with the limitations imposed by the malfunctioning items. My roving hab check guy is sound, and can hopefully resolve on return to base. Thanks for the assistance tho 🙂
