ID Mobile and phone calls

Has anyone had an issue with ID mobile and making and receiving normal calls as against watts app or data based calls.
Changed over and got new iphone16 at the same time. No issue in uk but now in France and we can neither make or receive calls.
Any ideas anyone? ID are on the case and are going to get back to us in 72 hours…I’m not holding out much hope

Check if you have roaming enabled on your phone AND on your ID mobile account

I used ID in 2023 and 2024 in France on 2 different Android phones without any issues with data or phone calls.

Check mobile data enabled as Jackdog suggests. I have had no issues roaming in northern Europe with iD mobile but annoyingly lousy signal strength in random places in the uk (central London, mid-Kent) when I really need it. Can’t work out if it’s my phone or their network.

Been using ID mobile for a couple of years works fine in France, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Germany and anywhere else we have been.

Yes
There is a setting on the phone that enables/disables 2G (I believe). I had mine turned off for security, but for some reason it needed to be on for ID mobile to work fully abroad for calls even if on 3G(+)

So look for that?

Otherwise, no issues roaming

If roaming wasn't turned on before you left the UK to my knowledge you can't turn it on once out of the country.

Is the APN set correctly (seem to remember having a similar problem with id and contacting them )

APN is for internet, the OP issue is phone calls, so not related

When in France I always select ‘Orange France’ works fine on ID mobile.
