😱🤣🤣🤣

Used to visit Camber a lot in my early driving years, parking was free. Then they built some loos and put a fence around still free. Then a daily fee, dunes that I'd ran over slid down also fenced off. Still a great beach but at that price no thank you.

It's crazy there and everyone just parks on the verges and anywhere they can that will now get worse
My parents retired down there when it was not as bad mum left us last year but dad still there can't visit when its hot as 12 miles drive can take 4 hours
I also worry if he needs a ambulance as it wouldn't fit down the roads because of the parking
I really can't see how this will improve things
They even display warnings o the m25 that camber is busy but still everyone goes there and don't even mention colditz i mean pontins

Wow.... 30 quid ? I tend to avoid camber in the summer as it's so busy there. I tend to end up there on winter days walking the dog with rain coming in sideways.

Yep me too it's lovely in the winter with dog and metal detector

Was in Rye at a nice Pub Stopover; The William the Conqueror Last night.
Was a bit windy on the beach this morning though. Big free car park but with height barrier, so can’t see why pay £30 across the Rother.

What's the grub like. Was thinking I might take a stroll over there for lunch.

They are doing it due to the pandemonium caused every year in the summer months that causes complete gridloc. They are hoping it will deter so many visitors. They also need to raise funds in order to keep the lifeguards on duty for the whole season following the sad drownings that happened a few years back.

They won't be recouping any costs when no-one parks there. Why are all councils run by idiots that live in their own little world?
You clearly don’t know the circumstances and the reasoning behind the decision.

The gridlock is a nightmare, if
I was a local I’d be asking for £100 a day. I could then go off without a 1 hour delay.

Have they put advance signs up to warn people? Otherwise there will still be congestion and worse as many will turn around and leave not wanting to pay 🥴

They could go the way of parking in West Wittering beach now by charging £5 a day and you have to book your slot online.

They could but it attracts a lot of day visitors who would probably still turn up without a booking and the main problem is the approach roads are very small.

I have on a previous post

Are you referring to your post#14?

If so were these the reasons minuted in the Council's decision?

If so, parking charges to pay for life saving seems a bit dubious if the persons parking just want to walk their dogs.

Could be challenged as being Ultra Vires.

I thought it was an April Fool then saw it was posted on Thursday.
We have family in Lydd learnt a long time ago never drive down that road on a hot summer Saturday or Sunday.

You may well be right as I have no idea

If I were still living in Rye and operating flights from Lydd(sorry -Ashford International) airport I do not know I would be able to get to work on time.
