I've been using Stream VPN (formerly My Expat Network) for a few years now with no problem. However, recently it's become useless. It drops constantly, allows internet access when it drops even though I've checked the box not to and, for example, if I ask for a UK IP address it gives me a German one!! Needless to say, I'm looking for a new one.

I need it to be simple to use, as well as offering IP addresses in different countries. Which one would you recommend, please? Thanks :)

Used NORD very successfully, not cheap but it works all the time with no problems.
Surfshark also recommended by a good friend and cheaper I believe.

FREEDOME.......

Cheers🍻

Do you know if it works with unstable connections, please? Our WiFi at home is very unstable if the wind blows or if it rains.

Yes, been using NORD VPN for about 5 years and found it to be very reliable and intuitive to use. All the family have accounts - referrals give extra months credit - and it can be used on multiple devices, including loaded onto Firesticks and routers.

Surfshark has very good deals at the moment and good reviews. I’m looking for a change from Nord as it’s getting very costly

Mullvad works well for us.

No contract, no silly 90% off deals.

12 months, 5 devices = £48
6 months, 5 devices = £24

Or sign up on a £5 rolling monthly subscription using their website.

Use it on a Firestick, iPhones and pc.

Using surfshark with Starlink and firestick for this year with no problems

Thank you everyone. I've gone with Nord VPN, through TopCashBack. It looks amazingly complicated, compared to Steam VPN but I guess I'll find my way around it. If not, I guess I can find help here :) So far, my connection at home is actually more stable than before I installed it, so maybe Stream was clogging everything. Anyway, happy so far and thanks again :)

I changed from NORD because they were taking the micky on price, Surfshark works well and has been reliable so far. It's funny how NORD can suddenly reduce the price by 50% if you come back to them, they should have respected a customer who had been with them for years.

I have been using ghost with a fire stick for 2 years no issues

Express VPN and Nord are the most reliable/professional providers in my opinion. They do 1 month free trials so doesn't hurt to give them a go.

VPNs inevitably slow t'internet so I have never felt the need to install a VPN on my home network. I only use Nord (dirt cheap special offer) when on public WiFi, or to spoof my location.

Am I not paranoid enough?

The reason that most of us have VPN's is to spoof our location when in the EU so we can get UK streaming, not usually necessary if you're using a UK sim.

That's not good. As a new customer, they 'said' I was getting 43% discount on a 2 year deal plus an extra 3 months free. Total cost for Plus offer was just over £100. I bought the subscription through TopCashBack so then got £66.08 back. So ended up paying around £34 (£16.69 was VAT) for 2 years 3 months. A great deal but they if they try to screw me at renewal, I'll be off like you!

As above, I mostly use it to spoof my location for streaming but also for privacy when using a public network.

StreamVPN never seemed to slow our connection at home much at all but, lately, it's got worse. However, with Nord, it seems back to 'normal'....

Or the reverse in my case, to make sure I appear abroad to be able to watch 3pm Saturday EFL matches. Which you can't do if they detect a UK sim.

(EFL clubs usually sell the games internationally really cheap too which is a byproduct).

Should add like some others above we use (as the family) ExpressVPN. It works for multiple devices (unlimited) and up to 4 simulteanously which actually covers the extended family. Some of the other VPNs have device limits rather than simultanous limits, and we prefer the latter as it's never likely we'll have ipads, streaming sticks and laptops all using vpn same time.

My wife has just watched Strictly on the Spanish campsite’s free WiFi using Windscribe VPN. 10GB a month free and you can pay to upgrade.

Similar story. I used Express VPN to watch NZ v ENG Rugby via All Blacks stream. Not available where SKY have rights, so signed in from Austria. Worked 100%, pity we didn't win.

Its interesting when the football club you support even goes as far as pointing out people watch from abroad legally via their website, with local kick off times for each location. on a Tweet sponsored by NordVPN who are in partnership with the club. At one point last season they even handily tweeted out every country where the game was being broadcast by local broadcasters in simialr tweets (so unavialble for purchase)... long with places it WAS available. #ad from NordVPN. Set your location to this place to watch in effect so its not like they are encouraging this AT ALL is it. It's blatent from certain EFL clubs

Everyone out there says you are.

A VPN is mandatory when using Kodi - or so I’m told. ;)

Thinking of getting Nord VPN to iuse with local Simcards as the usual UK providers seem to be restricting roaming. If I put Nord on my Firestick and set location to UK will it let me view the UK channel Apps using a local EU Sim?. Also if I add to my Laptop can we watch Skygo?

That configuration on a Firestick worked with a Spanish Orange data SIM for me earlier this year - no issues getting all the usual U.K. channels and apps. Can’t comment about Skygo though as I’m a Kodi fan. ;)
