Couple of weeks ago I was sent VIP tickets to attend a 'do' put on by the local Triumph dealer ( Lings )
Tonight is the night...

If it turns out to be nowt more than a biscuit, cup of manky tea, and a sales pitch ( which would not surprise me knowing Triumph ) I am gonna invoice them for my time and journey !

I'm going too. Free tea & tiffin and a look at the new lightweight Explorer, it would be rude not to! :D
You have a shorter journey than me John (assuming you still live in Thetfordshire.)
See you there...

Remember when i had my bushiness get a invite to the local jaguar dealer i had bought a car from them two weeks erler.
i turns up in the ford ranger bit of baler twine holding up my trousers there was gasps of horror from many in the sales room when the MD cam over and shook my hand and caled me by my first name.
the first time i went to look at a car the sales man had one look at us and tried to user us out the door'
TAKE IT YOU DON'T LIKE CHASH SALES THEN i shouted at the top of my voice as i Stufed the 30k back in to my coat
Went back shaved nice clothes on parked the old car round the corner thay could not have Ben nicer so what was wrong two hrs ago puzzeld look on face you chucked us out.

Yesssss... And that is another bone of contention.
Sold me a new Adventure but completely failed to mention the new one was out in a couple of weeks.. As far as I am concerned they treated me VERY poorly.. I point I will be raising with Scott.. Gonna ask him to give me 100% refund against the new model

Much to my surprise a very pleasant evening with a real warming hot chilli con carne based meal, fizz, coffee Christmas cake ( VERY nice, moist fruit cake ) a gift ( only a mug a wrist band and a key ring but ............ ) and not approached once by a salesman..
Nice to meet up with @Valkman and about 15 or so other old customers !
It nearly turned in to a Jaws Motorcycle event instead of a Lings one LOL!!

Good to meet up with you again John. Enjoyable evening. Initially I thought I had attended too early & joined at the back of an an old people’s Christmas outing, but the youngsters (aged about 40!) arrived s little later on.

If anyone happens to be near Hinckley anytime, I can highly recommend a visit to the museum they have recently opened. I called in today for a look round as they are one of our customers.
Free entry to a very impressive collection of their history going right back to 1902. Factory tours are also available but apparently are booked up to March already. Plenty of parking right outside the door for bikes and cars and a lovely cafeteria and a good gift shop.
The attention to detail is amazing of both the exhibits and the building.

But did they swap your obsolete old hack for the current new one ?
Apart from the switch gear, led lights and a different dash, it is exactly the same..
They did offer me a deal that was pretty good but given the differences I declined
