I hate to mention it but 'Dartford Crossing'

Hi. We came across northbound by the tunnel this morning and have an automatic payment set up, but nothing has been taken yet. Checking our account reveals 'no recent crossings'. Anyone know how quickly these usually show up? Hopefully before midnight tomorrow when the payment is due! Having said that, we never did have payment taken for a couple of crossings approx 18 months ago.

I think they wait for 24 hrs before they charge you.

We use it infrequently & I had similar worries when we used it earlier this year. Managed to get through to them on the phone.

Was told to sign in to my Dart Charge Account. Check that.......

(a) I had sufficient funds in the account &
(b) the account was 'OPEN'

If both these criteria were met then 'Cross & Forget'

My crossings were registered on the site within 48 hours.

Log into your account on Monday PM and have a look.

Whilst they say 'MUST' be paid within 24 hrs, they seem to accept 48 hrs in reality, and even longer at weekends.

Remember ALL the Thames tunnels are now tolled, Silvertown and Blackwall.
So if you ever even 'might' use them, set up and account now (costs you nothing)

Edit: I stand corrected but, I don't remember paying both ways, did you cross before 6.00am?

Dartford crossing are a complete shower of Shit, we have been having problems with them for two years, we are now on free crossings as they are to stupid to sort it out

I have an account.I just cross .if they fail to take payment it is there problem not mine as I'm foreign.
