Caravan owner moved on to Motorhome
Decided that we didn't use the microwave oven (apart from storing crisps and bread in it). So I took it out and made it into extra storage instead. Unfortunately, the widest piece of wood I could get from Prima (eventually) was 10mm too short, so I had to add a shim on the hinge side. Bit of CSE Woodwork and its in. Mustn't grumble. I'll let you know if it squeaks like a young couples bed in due course.

The microwave is now a 'feature' in my workshop for warming up cold cups of tea :)

Good match Id say (y)
I ordered a 'Mendip Ash Kitchen Door 513x423mm' from Prima, thinking it was wide enough. Turned out it was 10mm short, so I cut to the correct height and took 10mm from that to add to the width. Stunned myself that it actually worked LOL

Excellent job.

We did the same on our motor home, (I say we, I mean my hubby ;)), we now have a much more useable space.

Nicely done. Can you remember roughly what the wood cost?

would love to do or have that done in ours. dont think using 5 times in almost 5 years justifies keeping it.

Right, found on their website finally, searching on ‘Kitchen door’ @ £28.55
They also do other sizes

We've never had a microwave in a motorhome! Had one in a caravan once but never used it so definitely wouldn't want one now - hardly use the one we have indoors.
I used to take my combi microwave away, but it weighed a ton, now I use my cast iron griddle plate and Romaska. 👍
