This is ridiculous! Apparently even two Calor depots don’t have any 13kg Propane gas bottles. I’ve tried nearly all the local stockists in the Thetford area and there are none! Unreal!

Southampton list them as in stock but HOW MUCH😱

Do you need a refill or a new cylinder because as Kirsten suggested, eBay can be a source of cylinders. Mind you, getting and empty one exchanged for a full one isn't easy.

Just an exchange one. Plenty of patio gas ones about but no red propane. I’m now hoping the CAMC site I’m going to in a couple of weeks has some.

Time to seriously look at fitting a GasLow (or similar) refillable system.

It will cost the wrong side of £500, but it means that:
  • The price of 11kg of gas goes from over £50 in a Calor bottle to under £8 in a refillable.
  • You can travel outside the UK for over two weeks at a time.
  • You can refill at many fuel stations around the UK, and many more in the EU.
  • You don't have the regular problem of being unable to find Calor bottles.
  • You probably never run out of gas, because when you start on the second bottle at some point that week you pass a fuel station with LPG and refill both of them to the top (used to be with change from a £10 note, although maybe not now ....)

11kg's of LPG is approximately 21 litres ( at 80% fill) at under £8 to refill that comes out at 38p a litre ?

Calor will deliver refills, usually within a few days

Literally just exchanged a 6kg propane here in Melton no problems. The compound where they keep them appeared to have plenty of 13kg exchanges.

Yep, you are right, it's now 65p a litre in the garage at the bottom of my road.
£13.65 for 21 liters.

Still thats a lot less than the £2.52 per litre or £53 for 11kgs/21 liters being quoted by Calor

Maybe give the site a call to see if they have stock,,if so, pay for it now and they should hold it for you🤞

The people who have our old van have it filled it up with 25p a litre (28 cents per litre in Belgium)

The site I’m going to doesn’t open until the end of this month! :giggle:
I guess if I go down the underslung tank route it’ll free up the gas locker so I can fill it full of leisure batteries! I already have 440ah!
