Why does January suddenly seem soooooo far away ?

Lol true, luckily it takes that long to cash in the pension ! The biggest issue is looking at extras I want to buy and will probably never use!

Nice looking van , let the adventures begin 👍🏻

Yeah get out and enjoy it ! We see lots of people that have waited way too long and they just can't physically manage the setting up anymore .

I’m planning! I’m thinking local got a few stays, just to make sure I am confident driving and parking, also to make sure everything works! I live on the south coast so plenty of places locally, probably wales in summer , maybe France and Spain later in the year or maybe Finland Sweden.

Congratulations on the new van. Don't buy loads of stuff until you've actually used the van as you'll end up with a load of stuff you never use!

Start off with stuff you've already got. Once you've been away you'll know what you've used and what you haven't. That's the time to start buying things.

Yeah I totally agree, I’ve got a few bits and bobs from my camper van. I sold my awning with the van, I will have to think about the outside space, would be useful to have something but not sure what yet

We've had a motorhome for nearly 20 years now and have never bothered with anything outside apart from the occasional use of the roll out awning - and I can count on the fingers of one had the number of times we've used that!

Our van actually came with a safari room but we got rid of it within a couple of months as it was extremely heavy to cart around and not use.

We don't usually stay anywhere for more than a couple of nights although we do occasionally stay at THSs during the summer for maybe 5 or 6 nights but still don't find the need for an awning or other outside space.

Congratulations on the new van.

The less there is to do the better, my drive away awning on the camper was a real pain and very heavy. I’m hoping the wind out and maybe my wind breaks will be all I need

Its got a wind out so you dont need the hassle of an awning .
Silverscreen maybe?
Levelling ramps?
Extendable mop for cleaning the van or just your screen .
Collapsible bucket ? Good for washing the van and dropping your grey waste into if you dont use a heap of water .
Bikes and an inflatable paddle board to fill your garage with (y)
These are all things for santas list.

I hope I won’t need ramps as it has E&P self levelling system and air suspension. Defo to the mop and bucket. Maybe one of those flexi hoses for water. Got an inflatable kayak ( for the kids and grandkids). Bikes won’t fit in the garage I don’t think, it has a tow bar and I’ve got a bike rack, but they are electric bikes which are damn heavy so they will probably stay at home, plus my dog can’t ride !

Remove the roll-out awning and sell it, will give plenty of change after buying an Isabella Sunshade. Fit a caravan type canopy rail over the old roll-out awning holes. Will be much lighter and removes weight high up to improve handling. Easy to stow as folds up, just the collapsible poles to find a home for. Also no chance of awning hitting a tree in Cornish roads and tearing a slot in the van. Guess how I know.

You will love the E&P self levelling, it is so easy to level the motorhome when you arrive anywhere and no need to go outside if the weather is a little inclement either :xThumb:

Sounds like you need a dog trailer for the bikes.

Self levelling suspension sounds too posh for me :sneaky:
I have a self levelling system in my garage .. anything thats not packed properly sorts itself after the first few roundabouts

Travel light you really don’t need lots of ‘stuff’ if you read posts here you will find people have lots of ‘stuff’ in cupboards they never use.

Ours is only 5.4 meters we only take what we would have in a 2 man tent so often we find we have space spare. When we fly out somewhere we never take more that we can fit in an overhead locker, the exception being if we are off skiing.

But having said this we are all different.

Enjoy your travels and your new MoHo.

Good luck with your motorhome, you will love it :xThumb:

We have a Fiamma wind-out awning.
Great in rain as it gives a bit of shelter getting in/out of van.
Great if it’s hot (abroad) gives shade to side of van.
Pain in the a…se when it starts getting very windy, as it bangs against its own support and keeps you awake at night.
We reckon we wouldn’t have one if it wasn't already fitted, we have a rail so would use a ‘sail‘ type arrangement.

Check out the classifieds on here for extras. For example if you haven’t got a TV there’s a great Avtex tv and sound bar on sale.
If I didn’t have one already I’d definitely buy it!! 👍
