Want to swop out the 7kg Flo Gas butane for a Gaslow 11kg propane.

About to order bottle and hoses - then had a moment of doubt.

I assume… that the connecting threads are going to be the same?

PS: also assuming the Gasit European adaptors must fit Gaslow etc, as the primary filler has to be identical on all LPG pumps.

Regulator and pigtails are different between butane and propane (auotogas/lpg). Continental Adaptors fit ok

Lot of issues there mate, propane different threads than butane ,
Surely 11 kg bigger than 7kg will it fit, euro fittings all different.

Euro fittings are the same for Gaslow/gas it/SafeFill which is what he means I think. Different one for different countries yes

If your fitting the gaslow filler as shown then the gasit eu adaptors will fit that. (y)
We have gasit adaptors for our gaslow fill point as they were cheaper, not had any issues in Germany,France ,Spain or Portugal.

I think i made my question confusing - for me at least 🙃

My first concern is changing the bottle type.

My assumption is that the bottles will just swop - undo the existing connectors from the Flo Gas - insert the Gaslow and the hose end threads will be identical?

Not if you are changing from butane to propane.
But it's all common stuff that gaslow will provide.

No, not using your existing hose, but if you purchase the single bottle ‘kit’ that you posted in your OP then it comes with the new hose for connecting to your existing regulator. Then it’s just a matter of plucking up enough courage to drill through your van at a suitable location to fit the filling point!

Right - so if I have it correct - the Flo Gas bottle thread is different to Gaslow, but that doesn’t matter because the thread on the MH regulator is a generic that all gas bottle hose ends screw onto……

The hose I get with the Gaslow kit will screw straight onto the MH regulator 😎

So in reality - it’s very simple 🙂

The only challenge being cutting the hole for the external filler 🫤

(Being an ex motorcycle traveller, I’ve never had to deal with gas bottles before!)

You got it. (y)

Now just measure twice, thrice and ten times before drilling that hole! ;) (And put it in the right place - see other related threads for the best practice location). Consider an inline filter as well.

Use an external filling point, saves having to open the locker door every time and some times-depends on locker door size-there just isn’t room between van and pump!
PS. You can get different sized filler surrounds, one is huge and ugly looking

Don't make the hole in the gas locker door, it might look the easiest place but eventually you will have problems with kinked pipe or nuts coming undone.

Supplementary question:
What are these two deep recesses for?
What is this hose for?

Without knowing what the previous owner used or stored it’s impossible to comment 100%. The second pic looks to be standard washing machine type drain hose, so maybe used to extend the grey dump valve?

You must have a permanent drop out vent from the gas cupboard to safely allow LPG to exit in case of a leak.

Your existing pigtail is a 21.8 lh Butane or Shell nut G8 connection.
Yes it will fit straight onto a Gaslow cylinder once you remove the clip on adaptor fitted to it now .
