I was flicking through the site, admittedly after more than a couple of sherbets.
I’m sure I saw a photo of elephants that you can see from your van in a reserve.
I think it’s an aire in France near Lemoges
Can anyone tell me if I imagined it or the the name of the site please

The aire by the safari park at Cabárceno near Santander has the elephants. Number 6016 in CamperContact.

Lieganes is by the train station but is a much better aire if you need services. The safari park ones are vile. :)

I saw some camels on one French holiday so elephants are quite feasible. To be fair, I think there was a travelling circus in the are.

When out walking the dog one evening in Worcestershire I noticed a line of elephants walking towards me in the dusk. And yes, when I got home, my wife and two sons thought I was on something akin to Walt Disney's fantasia. To be honest I wasn't sure at first.

We'd just moved to Kidderminster. It dawned on me that the elephants were walking with a keeper inside the West Midlands Safari Park. Can something dawn on you in the night?

Some months later my eldest son was camping in the woods with the Scouts. Suddenly, the campsite was invaded by monkeys. The monkeys escaped over the fences from the Safari Park. Keepers swarmed into the Scout site to catch all the monkeys. The scouts loved the commotion.

In the years afterwards, we were able to sleep at night even when the lions and tigers were roaring.

Meany years ago a circus took over waste land near our local bus garage. One morning a lion escaped and wandered into the workshop. From what the Forman told me the fitters and cleaners hid in the buses. The workshop manager had the clever idea to shut the doors to contain it.
The circus crew put a slip lead on it and walked it back to the circus like you walk a dog saying it was an old softy and would hurt any one. All the same it was a big pussy cat.
