Does anyone know how to remove the side panel under the cooker/sink - on the 'fridge side - please?
I intend replacing the ABS corner piece (see photo) but need to remove this panel first, seemingly.
I note a solitary screw at the base (see pic). Is that all I need to remove to pull out the panel (somehow!)?
Thanks ~ Eddy

Hi Eddy

The screw you’ve shown in your photo appears to be a ‘pocket hole screw’. The Hymer group uses these to secure the sides of cabinets, wardrobes, bathroom walls, etc, to the vehicle floor (- I own a Bürstner van, which uses similar fixings). While it’s possible that removal of this fixing will allow you to pull out the panel, it is far more likely that this is one of several similar fixings used to fit the kitchen cabinet to the floor.

I suggest that you open the kitchen drawers and remove them if you can (sometimes via a catch underneath the drawer runners). That would allow you to look inside the cabinet and identify other pocket hole screws.

If, as I believe, the fridge door is located on the end of the kitchen unit, there may be other pocket hole fixings inside the cabinet in the vicinity of the fridge chassis.

Another detail which may be relevant:

The construction of the gas bottle cabinet and water tank housing in my own van includes aluminium corner sections, into which the vertical panels are slotted, and secured with small screws from inside. I suspect that the wall panel in your photo could actually be ‘slotted into’ the vertical aluminium (?) square corner section and similarly secured with internal screws.

Many thanks for those tips, HTH. Shall investigate, armed with that info... but after heating the inside of the van! Looks like I'll also need to use my inspection camera (from Aldi, I think); I'll let you know how I get on idc.
Thanks again ~ Eddy
