Hymercar Yosemite

Hi. We have a Hymercar Yosemite and the 'roof' of the storage area above the front seats has slipped down a bit, leaving a wide gap into a space behind it as seen in the attached photo looking towards the side above the driver. The slipped 'roof' is loose and can be pulled back up into position, but I'm not sure if it should go behind or in front of a horizontal 'bar' running across the van. I think in front, but not sure. Could someone please post a photo of an intact storage space? Thanks in anticipation.

It’s your secret smuggling compartment, so check for any stash hidden away. Can’t help with a picture, but I’m sure someone will be along shortly.

I would say that as the finish on the slipped panel is the same as the finish on the panel with the lighting that it should go under the panel that is showing in the gap and butt up against the lighting panel.

Happened to ours and will send a photo when I get to the van, I removed the retaining bar pulled the panel back it goes under the roof and it is the bar that holds it in place, what I have done is used some small screws that go through the panel in to the roof lining then replaced the bar. Do not over tighten the small screws into the roof lining basically it just stops the panel from sliding forward again.

Many thanks and looking forward to the photo!

Just stuck my hand in there and there is plenty of insulation. Look like it is matt black, certainly not obvious without a hand or torch!
That’s what we have too, just one other comment and will get that picture to you tomorrow, if you remove the retaining bar you should see where the board has been pushed up against the roof lining pull the board back to that point and use small retaking screws to stop it slipping again then replace the bar but again don’t ivertightwn the screws

Thanks again. Can I just check what you mean by the retaining bar? Do you mean the strip running across the van? Our Yosemite has a pop-top, so just possible it differs from your arrangement.

Yes the strip acts as a retaining bar

My front panel looked like yours, it can be slid back in position, you may see a line in the roof fabric when you remove the retaining bar which should just in front of the screws (you can see the screw caps which can be carefully pulled off (not the depth of the screw so you can place the cap back). To stop the front panel moving again I used small screws in the front panel screws in to the roof panel. Hope this helps

Brilliant. Very clear. I’ll give this a go as soon as my current heavy cold eases off! Thanks again for your help.

All sorted now. I actually had to remove the end walls in order to get the panel back in place under the trims, but that was an easy matter. Thanks again for all of your help. Cold almost gone too!
