We are no longer Newbie's.
Does anybody have copies of the wiring diagrams for a 2000 yr Hymer 680 on a Mercedes chassis please? I have nothing apart from the Mercedes handbook which just shows the cab fuse layout . The habitation side is the bit I need to get my head around for safety really so I know which fuse supplies what. There are fuses on the EBL99, on cables by the leisure batteries, and under the drivers seat (RHD) there are fuses and relays, none of which are marked. I can post some photos later if it helps with identifying them. I keep getting an occasional high discharge showing on the above door Amp panel even though everything 12v is switched off so I would like to chase this down, retracting step is my first choice but it could be anything. It looks like the batteryMaster is not working either as no lights are showing on it. @JeanLuc, @scotjimland, @Lenny HB, @TheBig1, @GWAYGWAY can you help please?

What parameter's does your Amp meter run to? 60+ 60- ??

Sorry but my knowledge of the wiring in a hymer is limited to just generic electrical systems. Each model is wired slightly differently. A high amp drain is usually a circuit for a motor or heating.
mercedes base vehicle, I have a workshop manual for the 208 & 308 series but not the sprinter

If no one can help on here there is a Hymer Classic group on Facebook and a hymer owners group they may be able to help .
Kind regard Kate

That would be my first choice, the step rocker switch can stick and as there is no limit switch at the end of the step travel it pulls a high current.

It is not isolated by using the 12v panel switch.. only way to isolate is to pull the step fuse.. 25A Fuse, 4th from left on EBL

You can request manuals etc direct from Hymer, email
Kundendienst@hymer.com

Thanks to everyone for the advice so far. Just done a night shift so won't be able to feedback answers to the amp mete till later today but all the info so far is really useful

Sorry don't know much about Hymers of that age, Jim's posting should help.
What sort of drain are you talking about?

I have the wiring diagram for my B630 which I have translated into English. It will not be exactly the same but may help. If you pm your email address to me I'll send you a copy. It is in two halves, each as a jpg which you can print then tape together to make an A3 diagram. I have also included extras that I have fitted so will indicate those when I send it. I also have the wiring diagram for the EBL 99 but I guess you have that already in the Schaudt instruction manual.

Sorry not the foggiest about that one but it would have to be a continuous running item, motor or servo unit sounds likely as you say a step motor and a seized pivot stopping it getting to the end of travel.. giv it a kick to shove it further in.

There is no end of travel limit switch on the step.. so pushing or kicking won't help, if the step was seized it would only pull high current if the switch was operated. When the step has retracted or opened, you must leave go of the switch or the current will in crease to about 14 amps!

The most likely cause is a faulty rocker switch ..

The attached explains how it works..

I have put some photos up of the panel Ammeter but the info received from Jim points to the high draw coming from the step or step/light switch unit as it does go high when it is operated and normally clears when the engine is started. I can live without the step so if I pull fuse 4 on the Electrobloc will that be sufficient to stop the high draw? Pictures are of normal parasitic load and high draw when step operated (both with 12v switched off at the control panel), I assume this load is all from the leisure batteries and not the starter battery? @JeanLuc I have PM'd you my email address.

pulling the fuse will stop the circuit drawing current but you still need to identify if it is the switch and fix it

Have a hymer s740 and the skylight isn't working , have checked all the fuses under the driver's seat and passenger seat and they are all.ok , I haven't got a manual to find where the fuse is , Could someone help me please

This is an old thread (2017) so you may do better posting a new thread, in the Motorhome Questions section, or maybe better in the Tech/Mech General section.

The EBL213 is a 'next generation' Electroblock, and it's set up is very different from the older EBLs. In the older EBLs, everything is distributed from one fuseboard.

In this newer type, there is an 'SDTBUS' which distributes power, and sends/receives data to/from various modules around the MH. There are tank, TV, light and various other module types. For example the TVM213 module has power and other connections to the TV/sat dish.

It looks like you'll have to find the light module (LIM213), that has the connections for the lights and switches/keypad. Since the idea of all this is to minimise the wiring, I'd guess it's close to the lights or the switches. To be honest I don't know much about these modules, and can't seem to find much info on them.

There is a manual for the EBL213, but it doesn't give details of the modules, referring to the installation instructions (which I haven't found yet). I assume the module has the fuse protection built in.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
