hymer van (transit)
Connected to 240v yesterday, 12v was showing ok (step and fridge worked) and panel showed batteries OK.
Today ridge or step not working, no 12v light on panel.
Checked all fuses OK, disconnected leisure battery and charged it, still nothing showing on panel. Is there a trip somewhere?

Do you have a multi meter ?

Start with the battery voltage if you do, that would be my first thought having had exactly the same problem ourselves

If under 12V that is the problem

Thanks for the reply.
After charging, I had 16v dc showing on my multimeter (I charged the leisure battery with it disconnected from the van).
Reading the manual now, it seems that anything over 14v points to a defective control box??

Thanks for the reply.
I charged the leisure battery with it disconnected from the van.
Then connceted back up, it showed 16v on my multimeter.
Just been reading the manual, which says that anything over 14v points to a defective battery or transformer/rectifier

Have you checked the two fuses next to the battery, a 50 amp supply fuse and a 2 amp for the standby circuit of the EBL, the EBL won't turn on if the 2 amp fuse is blown.

Which model of EBL is it? The 12V habitation circuits should work OK even if the 240V hookup is disconnected. That would be the thing to try first, to see if just the 12V circuits work.

There is a possibility that if the internal charger has failed, it is affecting the 12V side. To check that, you could pull the fuse on the charger output, that feeds power to the leisure battery. It's usually labelled 'Internes Lademodul' (= Internal charger module), probably 20A. That will isolate the charger from the rest of the EBL. The habitation circuits should then function as normal if the battery has some charge in it.

Edit: I see from your avatar that you are now a 'Free Member', so you have used up your five free posts and need to subscribe to post any more. Lots of people find it's worth subscribing for the advice and information, not to mention the free resources, rallies etc. And the Fun of course. Never been any good at that myself, but I believe it's considerable bonus :frowny: ::bigsmile:
