Does anyone know if these shower room tambour door upper “guide pins” should be a tight fit into the corrugated rectangle slots (see photos)?
Note:- I have unscrewed the upper guide rail to investigate, hence them being visible in the photos.
When in use, they only seem to guide the door around a 90 degree bend and do not take any of the doors weight?
The door looks to be supported by the lower “guide pins” the shower tray acts as the guide raiI.
I am concerned that they will eventually wear the shower tray away. Just wondering if I should glue the upper guide pins in position so that the door weight is taken from the upper guide rail.
I have seem some other tambour door threads that show the upper “guide pins” screwed into the corrugated door. Any thoughts???
The door is on a 2015 Hymer Exsis i504.

Our globe car bottom pins look like yours, but I can’t see the top ones. One of the bottom pins has come out, been put back by dealer (other issues with the door) but is reluctant to remain in place. They are waiting on more information from possle.

Don't worry the top will completely fall apart long before the shower tray is damaged. I gave up, removed the door and fitted a curtain. We can now wash the curtain and clean behind it and have no worries about the door collapsing again.

I am not at the curtain stage yet. I am just carrying out a bit preventative maintenance as I am not wanting the shower tray damaged. The upper track was replaced four years ago under warranty as it was split. Thanks for the suggestion, may come in handy in the future.:worried:

Keep it well lubricated with a spray of silicone regularly or furniture polish with silicone. That will stop it snagging.
Thanks Lenny...I have been doing that. I am trying to establish if the upper "guide pins" should be taking some of the weight of the door. (y)

They did on my Adria. Mind mine had little pins securing them to the door itself. Some had gone missing so i replaced them with 2mm bolts and nuts. Also drilled the adjacent ones and fitted bolts to them as well.

We’ve got an 2016 Exsis with the same door. The upper guide pins have always been loose in ours, I think it’s designed that way. They don’t take any of the weight of the door. The shower tray shows some wear but still looks fine. I occasionally grease the top rail with silicone grease to keep the door moving smoothly. Hope this helps
