WANTED Hymer S555 or B544 - pre 1998

I'm looking for a classic Hymer, pre 198, preferably a Merc based S555 but I would consider a good Fiat B544. I have strong money available for a clean and dry low mileage van (under 100k).

Yep, its on my list. I did try to see it on Saturday. Initially it was being sold privately but then was put on Motor Home Depot with a price hike. I was in the area but (not unreasonably) MHD couldn't arrange a viewing at short notice. TBH its price looks a little inflated for its age, I can afford more for a slightly late model which has a nicer interior.

“1997 B544 Lhd 62000 miles or 100k kilometres 15500 Ono Ayrshire.

Reluctantly for sale is my classic B544 due to a recent change in circumstances.
I have only owned it around 6 weeks.

This B544 is a 4/5 Berth Left Hand Drive Motorhome. It has the great Fiat 2.5TD engine and 5 speed manual.
Length 6.2 metres, width 2.3 metres, height 2.8 metres. Maximum laden weight of 3500kg.

Very good original white bodywork, fitted with Omnister awning, 2 bike cycle rack, 2 x solar panels, electric entry step, rear door plus drivers door, several external lockers, gas locker and 240 hookup.
The Hymer also comes with external thermal blackout screens for the front and side windows

80L fresh water tank and 100L black water.

The interior is in excellent condition throughout, with cherry wood cabinets and a light patterned vinyl flooring.

Rear kitchen with 3 burner gas hob, double sink with mixer tap, 3 way (gas/ 240v/12v ) Electrolux fridge with separate freezer compartment and plenty of general kitchen storage cupboards and drawers.

Rear shower wet room cubicle with Thetford cassette toilet, wash basin, mirrors and several storage cupboards.

Lounge/dinette with forward and rear facing seats fitted with 2 x 3 point and 2 x lap seat belts. Opposite this is a sofa. The front driver’s seat can also swivel round.

Above the cockpit is a large self contained tented double bed.

The vehicle is MOT’d until June 2018.

New Truma Combi boiler installed Oct 2013
4 x Michelin Agilis Camping tyres Nov 2016.
New rear air-ride suspension May 2016.
New bathroom/shower Reich Mixer tap fitted March 2017.

To note: The fridge is currently inoperable on 12v and looks like it needs a service but everything else is working well with no problems.

The Hymer was fully serviced 2 weeks ago and had a new habitation check last week.

This is a very well known B544 and an absolute credit to the previous owners who maintained it regardless of cost.
