Hi there.

So, we have just bought a Hymer S520 and am a little confused about the control panel.

We are hooked up to 220v and only the fridge, aircon, 220 sockets and one light work. All the rest of the lights don't work until we put the 12v on as well.

My question is are we supposed to leave the 12v on when connected to hook up?

Would be grateful if anyone can tell us anything

Many thanks
Ellie

Thank you. At the most we need the 220v on to power the fridge until the gas is checked. There's a slight leak so we need to use the 220v all the time to power the fridge.

So, is it OK to put the leave the 12v on at the same time?

All the while you are connected to the mains the battery is being charged which will be powering all the 12V items, most will even run just off the charger even if the battery has had better days

Absolutely, as you won't be able to operate the 12v systems without it being on.
We had the same control panels on our Hymer. I installed a tiny red LED into the panel, but on the awning light circuit, to tell me when I had left it on. ;)

To isolate the water pump when going out, you'll have to turn the 12v off, however, the awning light, step, and Truma heating will still have power to them. 👍

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Ah OK, thank you. Just thought to check as although plugged into 220v I need to leave the 12v switched on or the lights and flush don't work.

Great i shall leave it on then. Thank you

Great, I can leave it on then. There is a small green light when the 12v is on so we know.

Always built our own vans before so not use to this control panels.

Thanks for your help
