We have a 2005 Hymer Tramp T575 with the standard Hymer large (800 x 500?) wind-up rooflight. In September we visited France and the inner section of the rooflight became detached as the adhesive on the tape holding it in place couldn't stand the heat. It appears to be attached to the outer by rectangles of clear 3M dual lock tape which seems rather Heath Robinson. So before replacing it I wanted to check with fellow owners that this is the standard (only) way of attaching it.

Screws on mine, 2003.
Maybe that desire to not have screw heads showing resulted in the use of sticky tape ?

I'll get a piccy of ours tomorrow, but ours is stuck together with glue I suppose inner/outer ?, I would imagine super-glue would do it ?, but you'd have to get it off to do it

I removed my inner plastic piece, took the old stickle brick /3M dual lock type fasteners off and replaced as was with new 3M dual lock . No more dropping down

Photos as requested. The outer is completely smooth so nowhere for screws to go so I guess the options for attaching the inner are very limited. Most of the dual lock pads are still joined - it is the glue that has given way as a result of the heat.

I'm confused, I can see the screws around the frame so if it's not that what is the problem?
The problem bit is the clear inner that is dangling down in the second picture. The corner is only up because it is resting on the hinge.

Is it the inner and outer acrylic that has separated?
Yes, that's it. You can see one of the dual lock pads that has come unstuck through the hole in the inner.

Our Mercedes’ 680 windows and roof lights are bonded (the inner & outer) I’ve also repaired some of the side windows suffering the same problem, with super glue

As my comment previously, the inner pane is held up with 3M dual lock pads , simply replace the dual lock, it’s readily available, simples 😊
My guess is its removable to clean

So at least one other also has 3M dual lock so that must be the way Hymer did it in 2005. I don't fancy trying to stick it up with superglue so 3M dual lock it is. Thanks.
