Have a 2018 Hymer Exsis. Arrived on site today to find my offside DRL stayed on after the ignition was turned off. Both DRLs are lit when the ignition is on and the indicator lights are working normally.
I am aware of the known issue with the headlight wiring loom in these vans. Usually this manifests with a dull DRL on the affected side and/or issues with the indicator lights.
Is the DRL staying on when the ignition is turned off an issue people have encountered before and is it likely the wiring loom is the cause?

Not saying this is the issue but most German cars when you push the indicator stalk to the left or right and turn the ignition off that side DRL and rear light stay on. It was designed to be a parking warning to other drivers. Try it and see if the DRL on moves with the position of the indicator , it does with my Audi and I will check with my Hymer tomorrow.

As above, the looms are identical left and right, so swapping them over, if the fault moves, then yes. However it seems unlikely.

If you do need new looms, I make up upgraded ones cheaper than other suppliers

Just an update to my earlier post. Had help from another camper later that night. Found the affected headlight wiring loom was tightly wrapped around a bracket in the engine bay, which was a bit corroded. We eased the loom free from the bracket and the running light went off!
The issue hasn’t recurred yet but I suspect there may have been a short in the wiring loom. I managed to source a spare wiring loom for when/if this happens again.

Thankyou for replying with the fault discovered, it will no doubt help others. What I have seen is appalling quality of the original Hymer looms. The wire used is extremely poor quality and under sized. The replacement looms I sell use thicker cable, new OEM plugs and all the ends and weak points are reinforced with extra insulation. They are of course plug and play compatible with the original

I sell one for £100 with tracked insured courier and two discounted to £190
