Hymer Nova 530k
Hi,
I purchased a Hymer Nova 530k last November. The previous owner had problems with the water pump or pumps (internal and external water tanks). He pulled off some wires near the pump and said he could not figure out which way to put them back. Can anyone help?

I could do with pictures of the wires on the back of the external water pump housing (mounted in the side wall of the caravan), the spade connection block (in the internal water tank seat locker, back right, in the top corner) and where the 3 wires go on the back of the 2 way switch.

I believe the Hymer 530 is a caravan and this is a motor home site
I’m familiar with that caravan, you need a multi meter, un-clip the tie wraps on the wiring and follow the wires, there is a switch that selects inside or outside pump , 12v supply and external socket (for the external pump)
Perhaps ask on a caravan site , try ‘caravan talk‘

Hi,
Thanks, yes I tried the multi meter on the switch wires the fuses are all ok but the wires are all dead on the switch (no power) so I am not sure what other wires were messed with.

Have you checked all the microswitches in the taps are OK, it would be a good starting point then follow the wiring.

the taps need to be open

When I purchased the caravan all the wires relating to the water pumps (in the seat locker where the internal water tank is) were pulled off the terminals so I am not sure what goes where. The micro switches on the taps click when I open the taps but I have not metered them out as I thought I would try and get the wires reconnected in the right place first and see where the power goes and what switches switch the power.

There are 3 places in the same seat locker where the wires had been pulled off the terminals,
1, the two way switch.
2, the external connection box mounted through the wall.
3, a distribution terminal block with 4 x rows of spade terminals (about 6 spades in each row).

I have tried a multi meter on the wires and switched the taps on and off, but got no power coming through, but if the wires are pulled off or in the wrong place then I guess I wouldn't

It’s really difficult to help you on here but… , power comes in, switched by the taps and powered by a fuse, then goes to the internal or external pump via the big silver switch.
If you can’t sort it you will need an auto electrician
