What is this red button for on an 1980 Hymer Mobil 540 Mercedes Benz

It will probably be an after market switch, possibly a cutoff for the engine..?

Or a self destruct button… don’t pull it while driving…

I'd hazard a guess that it is a rear fog light? Hi & welcome

Does it flash when the hazards are on?
Our Hymer had a simar warning light if not put your lights on then pull the switch see if it puts rear fogs on as mentioned.

As an aside, I don't have OCD, but I couldn't live with that upside down choke knob !
