It will be no consolation to you but my Mercedes A class had to have the gearbox removed to change the turbo

I did try an independent garage first who made a bodge and caused more work for Mertrux Mansfield to resolve

Did the garage give you a quote to do the job? Is your motorhome still driveable?

Mercedes were not interested as said they need to take gearbox out, body of chassis, etc.., getting a price from an independent who reckons it's feasible...

Where in the country are you ?

As many on this forum may have a recommendation of motorhome specialist garages close to you.
(You may also need to pay £20 to join up with the forum as you are about to run out of free messages!)

I get an annual reminder from my local Mercedes dealer to arrange an annual service, yet every time I try, they decline as it's a motorhome, even though it has a normal Sprinter cab and is no different to any other commercial box van they deal with!

Their loss and the gain of a local motorhome specialist garage who does a lot better job for half the price!

Looks like you may be in Edinburgh from the invoice address. If so, but still a fair distance from you (100 or so miles), Dinnet Garage in, surprisingly Dinnet!, near Ballater has serviced both my A class Mercedes based motorhomes (including an Mli570) with no issues. A stone went through the radiator on my Mercedes Frankia and they replaced that easily enough.

Thanks, I'll give them a call
