The kitchen tap has stopped working, it fails to turn the pump on, but is able to to run water through it if either the bathroom tap or shower is turned on, si I suspect that the solenoid/microswitch to be at fault or a loose connection.

Has anyone any knowledge as to how these taps come apart?.

Pete

Micro switch - not sure but it may be "embedded" in the tap

There might be a concealed screw on the lever, undo and the lever should come off revealing the microswitch. Often the the wires get snagged and wear, then fail to operate the pump.

We have a Hymer and similar looking tap in bathroom sink, unscrew the turning lever then the cap comes off

Had same fault in our shower tap had to remove the end screw cover on that

But when you sort that if you fancy a real challenge try my kitchen sink tap for over complicated o_O

Thanks, as you see I've managed to remove the lever and can see that the brown wire from the microswitch has come/broke away from the tap housing/feed.

Question now is how to remove that inner white plastic piece so that I can reattach the wire?

as said.. the micro-switch is under the handle.. if there is no centre screw, the tap in our Hymer the mixer handle just pulls of.. try that

spare switches from Leisureshop Direct

edit.. I see you just removed it..

Well after further investigation and prodding about, I've discovered that I do not have to remove that white central inner piece. The brown and black wires are fed up through the tap and there's enough slack to be able to make a solder connection.

All I need now is a man with a soldering iron!

I would consider changing the complete switch as the black cable is showing signs of damage as well?

Looks like the sheath on the black wire is through to the core.

Weirdly a youtube video popped into my recommended ones this morning, Herman the Hymer replacing the microswitch on his tap as one of the wires became detached and it stopped working. Useful point towards the end over the switch lever.
