Has anyone managed to buy or make a headlight protector. I believe a replacement headlight unit is extremely expensive, thus the need to protect them.
I have cut a cardboard pattern so I can cutout plastic covers & hold them in place with several small suckers.
This sounds simple, but I am sure it is not. The covers need to bend in 2 directions, which makes it a complicated shape.
What material should I use any tips would be helpful. this may have been covered in a previous thread, but I cant find it.

I used Perspex from a Covid screen. Heated carefully it bends whatever way you want.

Used the suckers from Amazon, think they were £8.

Also used cable ties as I am a chicken. :)

Mine are polycarbonate each with four suckers, have been on since DavidG58 4years + had his problems and I check they’re secure before every journey so no problem.
I heated the flat material and got enough shape to fit ok.

Also consider Lamin-X film. I fitted mine in 2018 and it’s standing up well.
Search Lamin-X on here for threads about it.

This looks good as a protector. Where did you buy the product?

I don’t rate the covers especially having lost one, but do rate the Lamin X film
Thanks David, we’ve been looking at it after I read your post.

Cliff’s got in touch with an American company that supply it.

Just a shame I didn’t read the posts 5 years ago - that’ll teach me not to read any threads to do with motorhomes!

Hope you’re all having a lovely weekend.

When we had a Hymer with the Almond Eyes I made a pair of protectors from 2mm polycarbonate attached with suckers and a cord going around the back of the lamp so I couldn't lose them.

I think this is the same eBay seller I used 8 years ago

Just had an email back from them David. They don’t have the sizes as yet, but they’ve just acquired the UK rights so we have to contact them in a month. 👍

Thanks for your help. We’re in Le Puy Notre-Dame at a vintage Grand Prix - I bet it’s quieter at Lyndon top! !
