Hello Funsters
When we were last camping at new year there was a significant draft coming through the hab door seal. From outside, the door isn't flush with the body. Pushing the door flush stopped the draft.

Ok me thinks, quick fix to adjust the door lock plate. It is already on full adjustment.

Then I noticed the amount of play in the (don't know the word) plunger, the bit that moves in and out of the lock keep. Is this amount of play usual?

Any ideas of a fix?

Thank you

Carefully prise off the lock cover. Four plastic tabs I think. Be carefully as they are easy to snap. Remove 4 screws 2 long and 2 shorter. Pull lock assembly from door. On the lock assembly You will see a large screw holding the plunger as you call it in position. There should be a couple of washers underneath. Tighten the large screw and lubricant if required (PTFE type). Note you may need to fit and adjust a couple of times to get the plunger to slide back and forwards when opening door.

Thank you for this.
When I was investigating this, I did take this off and know exactly what your talking about. I'd dismissed shimming up the play under the bolt as it's such a distance to the far side of the plunger I didn't think it would work. Before I order some shims had this worked for you?

I also wonder whether I can shim up the clearance underneath the circlip...

I usually take the lock apart ever 6 months and retighten the screw. I think I may have added an additional washer under the screw at some point. It is not perfectly tight but adequate. I can tighten the door fitting seal by adjusting the lock plate. Are you sure you cannot get more adjustment out of your lock plate? Good luck

I wish it were that simple. I was tempted to drill and tap new holes in the base plate, but with the amount of lateral movement in the plunger, I'm not convinced it would work.

Brownhills have one in stock £228...

Have the hinges bent ? With door closed look if the gap is equal all around from the outside.

Nothing obvious but I'll take a closer look. The door can be gently pushed flush all around. The catch doesn't hold it there.

I could do with someone like Googlebot to have a look at his 👋

Hi, mine is exactly the same.

The door appears a bit warped where the top is flush and the bottom sticks out. I have tried bending the door and no change.

I haven’t taken the lock apart yet, there is no adjustment I can find on the hinges and the latch is as far as it will go. I wasn’t willing to drill it either.

Mine does seal all round though so not an urgent job.

I will take another look when I get 5 and take the lock apart to try shims as well I think. 👍

Cheers Googlebot Thanks for your reply.

Mine door is also warped, except it sticks out at the top!

Does your plunger have lateral movement like mine then? On mine, it causes the mechanism cover to pull away from the body slightly.

Just had a reply from Brownhills who confirm that there is no lateral movement on new ones.

I think that we should start a competition. Mines worse than yours!

Appreciate you taking the trouble. Next week I'll take it apart and measure up what diameter shims I'll need and reply with my findings.

Brill, I can let you work it out and tell me what to do. :-)
