Outer door handle stopped working today.
I removed the four screws holding the inner lock and handle and removed the mechanism.
With this removed I could see that the return spring on the outer handle had snapped.
I just could not work out how the outer handle is fixed in place. All the top of the handle is loose but there is something lower down holding it in place. If it’s more screws then there is no access without stripping the inner door shell off.
I managed to pull enough of the snapped spring out and form a hook on the end so the handle is working again. At some point I will fit a proper spring in place if someone enlightens me as how to remove the outer handle. Picture off the outer handle and the inner mechanism shown to identify what model it is.
Thanks for any info.
