Hi all
Any one with experience of Hymer Exsis i678 with any known gotchas to be aware of. Also hymer claim 3.5ton but is this realistic.
What MPG do you get on a 2.3 lt 150bhp engine.
Thanks all.

3.5 ton on a 7.5 meter Hymer Exsis will take some managing.

It really depends on your lifestyle. We happily do it on a 7 meter Exsis I 780 but we travel very light.
Never have a full tank of water.

I would ask for a weight certificate.

Yes, I think I need to get it weighed. How much water do you carry. I always carry full in this country but may not need to when onthe continent because more facilities exist.

We use 5 litre bottled water. Available everywhere. So, don't need much at a time. (never been more than 30% full)
Drain the grey tank regularly.

Here are two extracts from Hymer info. One gives the alleged base weight and the others shows item weights whichever apply to your vehicle.

What year?

We had a 2014 we bought new, a 150 HP Comformatic, had it for nearly 3 years. Only had a 100 Lt water tank later ones I think were 130 or 150 Lt. We used to carry 2 x 20 Lt containers of water in the garage. Also length went from 7..2m to 7.5m.
With 2 e-bikes and junk we carry & we always run with full tanks, we were running about 3600kg so we uprated to 3850, we were on the limit on the rear axle.

Common problem when running with a full water tank on rough or twisty roads tank cap works slightly loose and water flows into the under floor storage area in the garage.
We had a garage door seal leak, generally pleased with the van.

Lenny could you not tighten the water cap down or did it always come undone.

Always seem to come undone only happened on really twisty mountain roads or rough tracks, if I'd kept the van I would have fitted a better seal. Must be due to how the tank is placed, never had it on any other van & it was a common problem on Exiss vans.
