Hi I have hymer classic skylight shaft has sized up . I've removed skylight removed two metal bars and top gear but bottom gear won't budge. Trying mole grips on underneath Trying to remove from top.
Tried all lubricants still to no avail.
Don't understand why it won't push upwards.
Has anyone got better idea than me please

If this is the same my thread may help

I have now replaced the whole winding mechanism, it is screwed to the roof, sealed with silicone but does come off with effort

Coincidentally I was just looking at parts for mine, the gear is available separately , not sure how easily it would be removed but might be useful and I would suspect much cheaper than buying from Hymer

Thanks for taking time to reply very helpful as the price for the whole thing was quite alot for what it is. Many thanks

Hymer parts are horrendously expensive 🙁 and worse sadly often no longer available only a few years after last produced, scandalous

Good luck with your repair 👍
